writing on the walls

When needing to fill the walls of a new office, EVERYTHING looks good. I'm slowly getting the walls covered and making it my own little, four walled world. I took AIGA's 'After School Special: Advice for Emerging Designers' and made it part of my world. So here it is!

work calendar

So after seeing this calendar online, I figured it would be perfect for my boring, empty office walls. So I went ahead and started the project. After forever and a day it's done. It looks really good and I've had many compliments, but wow, it took so long to get finished! Anyway, here it is.

(yes there are a few days missing, I need more magnets!!)

Mini Trees

Decided to have my own forest in my office :) They're probably 4-5 inches tall and just really really cute. I also made yellow tops with gray pots for the apt. I'm LOVING these.

Oreo brownie heaven

It has been forever and a day since I've updated on here and it's a shame! So much has been going on. One of the goodies I made during my blog absence were these little heavenly Oreo brownie guys. They were so easy too!

I made the brownie mix from scratch, but you can just buy a box of mix.
         Brownie mix:
         3/4 cup cocoa
         1/4 canola oil
         3/4 cup butter
         2 cups white sugar
         3 eggs
         1 teaspoon vanilla extract
         a 'splash' of almond extract
         1 cup all-purpose flour
Make the mix or your favorite brownie batter
Scoop a spoon full of brownie into each cup of a greased muffin tin
Place 1 Oreo in each cup of the tin
Cover the Oreo with more brownie batter
Put in the oven to bake!

Bake at 350 F for 20-30mins.

Covering the entire cookie (unlike mine) will make the Oreo soft and DELICIOUS! I did it with the extra batter and Oreos. YUM!

the non sunburst, sunburst

I was planning on getting a lot of crafting done this week. It's Wednesday and I've only gotten one project done! Not sure where all of my time went, but it wasn't towards crafting.

Anyway, this is my finished project that found its place above our fireplace and has also changed my whole idea of what the decor in the apartment will be. I have never been a fan of glue guns, but for this project it was my best friend. HA

feeding the obsession

I love sneakers and my eyes have been glued on these for a while, I am just waiting for the opportunity to purchase them (while they are still on sale). They are simply stunning and all that is needed is a simple source of income before they are safely on my feet. I should find out this week about my 'golden opportunity'. Fingers crossed!
